Last year I ran the race this year by myself. Ever since Zach watched me cross that finish line he has been wanting to run a race me. Although it would be really good for me, I don’t run as often as I should and to be honest, I don’t think that I have run since last April for the 2007 race. Anyway, Zach was super stoked to run and Steph convinced her sisters and nieces and nephews to join us this year.
It is always inspiring to see so many people supporting a cause like fighting breast cancer. If the race is coming to a city near you, you should check it out too!
A couple of side notes about the race, then some photos:
- Go to the booths where they give you free stuff before the race (or your child will be sad that everyone is walking around with a popsicle except him!)
- Keep an eye on your eager child – As soon as we reached the starting line, Zach asked “Can we start now? Next thing I know, I’m sprinting after him weaving in and out around people. I knew he was excited but didn’t see that coming
(see pic below) - Invite people you know to participate. Get some exercise and have a good time.
- Carry a cell phone so when your friends you invited get separated and lost from you in the masses, you can hook back up.
